Section 02Onboarding Process

Your Path to Move-In Day

Every step below must be completed before you can check in. Missing any single step is the most common cause of delays — read this carefully.

01

Receive your job offer

A signed offer letter from your employer’s Human Resources team is required before a housing application can be initiated.

02

Pass your background check

Housing eligibility is contingent on a cleared background check. Your Human Resources team will advise on timeline — you can continue with your application while you wait.

03

Register in the StarRez Portal

You will receive an email invitation from Human Resources. Register and complete your housing application through the StarRez Portal. Allow 3 business days for review. Business days are Monday – Friday.

04

Sign your lease agreement

Your seasonal lease is generated within the StarRez Portal once your application is approved. Sign it promptly — your bed space cannot be held without a signed lease.

05

Select your bed space

Bed spaces are first-come, first-served within the StarRez Portal. Some departments may be pre-assigned to specific locations based on operational needs.

06

Pay deposit & initial rent

Your security deposit is due within 5 days of selecting your bed space, or before arrival — whichever comes first. Initial rent must also be paid before check-in. See your StarRez Portal for amounts.

07

Schedule your move-in appointment

Book through the StarRez Portal with a minimum of 72 hours’ notice. Appointments cannot be scheduled sooner than 3 days before your work start date.

Section 03Check-In Eligibility

Check-In Requirements

All of the following must be completed and confirmed before a check-in appointment will be honored. Arriving without these in place will result in a rescheduled appointment.

01

Application submitted & approved

Via the StarRez Portal. Allow 3 business days for review. Business days are Monday – Friday.

02

Lease agreement signed

Electronically through your StarRez Portal.

03

Security deposit paid

See your employer’s onboarding guide for amounts.

04

Initial rent paid

Due before check-in, not upon arrival.

05

Move-in appointment scheduled

Minimum 72 hours in advance via the StarRez Portal.

06

Transportation not provided

LMPM does not provide transportation to housing. Discuss options with your Human Resources team or hiring manager.

Residents who do not appear for their scheduled move-in appointment without communication within 24 hours will have their booking cancelled. A new bed space may be selected if and when plans are confirmed.

Application Eligibility Considerations

The items below are taken into consideration when reviewing applications.

Pay or vacate notices

3 or more in a prior season rotates an applicant to the end of the queue. Housing may be limited and; is not guaranteed.

Non Sufficient Funds (NSF) notices

3 or more in a season rotates an applicant to the end of the queue. Housing may be limited and; is not guaranteed.

Lease violations

2 or more in a season affects future approval. Severe violations may result in housing denial.

Early termination

Prior early contract terminations affect queue priority. Residents departing before seasonal cutoffs are added to the waitlist.

Sections 04–05Housing Locations

Section 12Packing List

Arrive Prepared

Furnishings and utilities are provided, but many personal items are not. Employee housing is a shared living environment — items that support sleep, organization, and personal space often make the biggest difference.

Government-issued IDs & documents

ID, lease copies, insurance information, prescriptions.

Bedding & towels

Not provided unless purchased through the StarRez Portal in advance. Twin XL is the most common size. Please refer to your company specific housing guide for more details.

Renter’s insurance

Personal belongings are not covered by LMPM. A basic renter’s policy is strongly recommended.

Warm-weather layering

Montana weather shifts dramatically. Bring a winter jacket, hat, gloves, and insulated boots regardless of season.

Kitchen & food items
Plates, bowls, cups, mugs
Silverware
Reusable food containers
Favorite basic cooking tools
Snacks & pantry staples
Personal fridge

Kitchens may be shared or communal. Dishes, cookware and utensils are not guaranteed, and fridge space may be limited.

Comfort & miscellaneous
Personal heater or heated blanket
Small storage bins or organizers
Command hooks — no permanent mounting
Bedside or reading light
Mattress pad or protector
Laundry hamper or bag
Extension cord or power strip
Iron & ironing board
Small vacuum — hotel-style rooms
Sleep mask, earplugs or white noise
Candle warmer — open flame is not allowed
A plant, decor or pictures
Furnished bedroom
Highest-impact item
Bring a fan

Almost no LMPM properties have Air Conditioning. A fan is one of the highest-impact items you can bring for summer.

Section 13Quick Start & FAQ

Quick Start Guide

Designed to help you move into employee housing with minimal stress. Most delays, fees and issues occur when steps are missed.

Key timelines to know

Deposits due within 5 days of selecting a bed space, or before arrival — whichever comes first
Rent paid biweekly or on the 1st/15th through the StarRez Portal / Zego. Please check your hiring company housing guide for specifics.
Late fees begin 3 calendar days after the rent due date
Move-in appointments no sooner than 3 days before your work start date

Payments at a glance

Preferred method: ACH — no processing fee
ACH payments are not real-time and may be returned by your bank days later
Returned payments may result in Non Sufficient Funds (NSF) fees and a reinstated balance
Keep sufficient funds available for several days after paying. Payroll deductions are not offered

Shared living expectations

A roommate questionnaire identifies general preferences, but roommate compatibility is not guaranteed. Please be mindful of:

Quiet hours — and courtesy outside of them
Lights, TVs, alarms and devices in shared bedrooms
Differences in schedules, age and lifestyle
If concerns arise: speak respectfully with your roommate, contact your Resident Assistant, then reach out to LMPM if issues persist.

Common mistakes to avoid

Missing your move-in appointment
Submitting rent or deposits late
Assuming ACH payments clear immediately
Arriving without finalized housing steps
Expecting automatic roommate changes
Leaving without completing the move-out process
These issues may result in fees, cancelled bookings, or loss of housing eligibility.

What tours can — and can’t — tell you

Our virtual tours give you a general sense of the layout, size and flow of our units before arrival. They’re a helpful planning tool, especially for understanding common areas and room configurations.

Furnishings may vary between units, even within the same building or unit type
Room layouts and configurations can differ, including furniture placement, storage and bed arrangements
Décor, finishes and small details may not appear exactly as shown
